New RFID Fish-Detection System for the Fish Pass at Kembs, Alsace (2017-02-28)

This February Profish visited the facility of the hydropower plant at Kembs, Alsace. The aim was to equip the new fish passage with a detection system for migratory fish . 4 of our detection antennas were installed to continuously detect the passage of PIT tagged fish. The new data will help us in the short term to assess the effectiveness of the fish pass, but also to better understand the migratory behavior of fish in the Rhine river. The project is financed by EDF and being realized in cooperation with CIPAM.
