Testing the Electric Swimming Barrier NEPTUN on Silver Eels (2017-01-10)

Profish is currently testing together with partners the effectiveness of the NEPTUN system as a swimming barrier for downstream migrating silver eels. The test site is located at the Murg stream near Gaggenau, Germany. Last year, the same experiment had demonstrated an efficiency of about 90% for salmons. For the second year in a row, Profish has also installed a complete system for locating the fish by radio telemetry.
