Evaluating the Impact of the Turbines of the Andenne Hydropower Plant on the Local Fish (2016-12-15)

This December Profish evaluated the impact of the turbines of the Andenne hydropower plant on the fish of the Meuse river (Belgium). More than 1000 fish belonging to different species (eels, roach, salmon, carp, ...) were used to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of the turbine on the fish during their passage. In order to be able to reliably track each fish individually, each fish was equipped with an internal PIT tag.
